Terms & Conditions

1. Booking and Payments

  • To secure your place in a workshop, full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Payments are non-refundable except under the specific conditions outlined in Section 2.

2. Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations (7+ Days Notice): You are eligible for a full refund or a one-time transfer to a future date if you notify us at least 7 full days before the workshop begins.
  • Cancellations (Less than 7 Days Notice): We are unable to offer refunds or transfers for any cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop date, as it is difficult to fill specialised spaces at short notice.
  • Transferring your Ticket: If you cannot attend, you are welcome to send a friend or family member in your place at no extra cost. Please just email us to let us know their name.
  • No-Shows: No refunds or credits will be provided for non-attendance.
  • Studio Cancellations: If Kapok House must cancel a session due to illness or emergency, you will receive a 100% refund or the option to reschedule.

3. Materials and Liability

  • Professional-grade Sumi-e materials are provided for your use during lessons.
  • As our ink is traditionally made and permanent, we recommend wearing dark clothing or an apron. Kapok House is not liable for damage to personal property.

4. Photography and Work

  • We love celebrating your progress! We may take photographs of the workshop and student work for our “Participants’ Gallery” or social media.
  • If you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know at the start of the session.
