Whether you are looking for a peaceful escape for yourself or a fun, focused afternoon for the kids, our workshops are built around this sense of creative calm.
Sumi-e is not about being a perfect artist. It is a practice of focus and finding your own rhythm. We introduce you to the ‘Four Treasures’, our favourite traditional tools, and guide you through the ink and the brushstrokes until you find your flow. It is a little sanctuary in Altrincham and Didsbury where everyone is welcome to come as they are and simply enjoy the process.

Children’s Workshop
This is a playful, hands-on 1.5-hour session that explores the magic of bamboo brushes and ink strokes to create everything from animals to nature.
Ongoing Sumi-e Sessions
Ongoing sumi-e sessions to explore the traditional four gentlemen (plum blossom, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum), the essential building blocks to master sumi-e. We offer them as an adult course and a children’s after-school course.
Sumi-e at Schools
Bring the quiet focus of Sumi-e to the classroom. We offer engaging, hands-on sessions designed to help students explore traditional East Asian art while finding their own creative calm. Perfect for art weeks or cultural workshops.
